On August 5 I was able to organize a quick cycling ride to SPFF-1309. In total it was a little over 18 kilometers – perfect for afternoon activity.
I organized my portable ham-shack very quickly and I was on the radio for about 20 minutes logging 16 CW QSOs. I will come back to SPFF-1309 for sure. Below you can see a map of my route. The names like “WESOŁA” or “REMBERTÓW” are names of the eastern districts of Warsaw.

I started my ride in Sulejówek (A). The route leads through a military training area. But the forest is intensively used by residents of Wesoła and it is rather safe to be there. Below you can see a warning board “Droga czołgowa” which means “Tank Road”.

SPFF-1309 is the place where Długa River flows. The river is very small, narrow and overgrown with grasses and algae. There were three villages in that area but they were displaced very long time ago. There are still remains of villages – for example wild fruit trees (remains of orchards).

A narrow-gauge railway was routed through that area but it was in 1930s… Old history.
Below you can see my rover-style ham-shack.

I am going to come back to SPFF-1309 in the future. It is so close to my childhood places – but the only way to get there is to go on foot or ride a bike. It is in the forest.

CU again. 73 and 44
