16.09. Activations Update

I’m finishing another day of trips.

I was in the Puszcza Śnieżnej Białki Reserve SPFF-1366 today. It was a great bike trip. Very nice roads, mainly running along the slopes. Of course, you have to climb a little, then ride down but it was not bad. Generally, most of the routes are flat and these roads are gravel roads, but very comfortable to ride.

I had to give up the trip to the SOTA Smrk peak on the Czech side. It turned out that a piece of the trail that I had previously found on the tourist map there, indicating that you can get there or bike there, in reality, is a forest path, probably very rarely used, without any tourist signs in the forest. I don’t do such things, so I gave up.

After finishing from SPFF-1366 I wanted to get to the Nowa Morawa Reserve SPFF-1365 by bike but it turned out that again a piece of road that I found on the tourist map is just a forest crossroad and it is not a road that can be ridden by bike or car, only some heavy equipment. So I also resigned from this episode. I would have to go there first and then return of the same road about 2‑3 km, so I resigned from this. I went back to the parking lot and I went by car to the village of Nowa Morawa. I passed the village and I got to the border crossing with the Czech. Here I parked the car and I rode to the Nowa Morawa reserve.

I worked on the radio but I made only about 20 QSOs and I had to run away because the weather started to change and I heard that there could be a rain and storm. I could also hear QRN. So I quit the activity quite quickly because I had to not only roll up the equipment but also later bike up the hill about 1.5 km in such a quite forced descent.

So this is how it looks today. Tomorrow should be according to the plan but it will obviously turn out when tomorrow comes. We will see what the weather etc.
